Hey Guys/Ladies,
I want update a dimension but I do not want to lose any data that's written against that dimension. The problem with the dimension is that there are duplicates of elements in the dimension. Element "a" has 2 parents. How do I update the dimension so that element "a" will only have one parent and that I don't lose any data.
Thanks alot!

Re: Updating a dimension
Hi par3,
An element is only ever in a dimension once even it appears in your view of the dimension multiple times as it has multiple parents.
So although "a" has parents 1 and 2 it is only exists in the dimension once and it just has two differnt ways of being consolidated. So data is nto stored twice or anything like that.
So unless you actually delete the element a you won't lose any data.
To delete it from a consolidation you can use the dimension editor.
Find the consolidation that you want to delete the element from.
Expand the consolidation
Find the element a under the consolidation.
Right click on the element and select delete from consolidation.
