Documenting Structure & Data Flow
Does anyone have a straightforward method for documenting the cube structure & data flow for a TM1 model, or probably OLAP models in general? I would like to document it visually, a flow chart of some sort, and I wasn’t sure if there was software, or any other method out there that helps diagram the structure and flow of data through the model. I can map out a simple structure just like I would do any flow chart, but I wondered if anyone had developed a good method for documenting the more intricate parts of their models that they might share. I start getting stuck when I have different elements within in the same dimension calculate differently, some fed from processes, some from other cubes, some calculate. It doesn’t make sense to try and visually document how every intersection is calculated, but I would like to try and show an additional level of detail beyond listing the cubes, dimensions, and processes that affect each cube... Thanks in advance.

This is probably the closest you are going to get to what you want:

However, I've never used it to generate flow diagrams as it is too detailed and our models too large.
