Access pmpsvc from a public URL - Setup question

Hi All,
I have a question on setting up pmpsvc to access remotely.
We have setup a public url https://tm1.abcd.com and it directs it to http://tm1WebServer.fullyQualifiedName:9510 - internal url. After hitting the public URL, gets redirected to internal URL then goes to Cognos BI for authentication and returns back to http://tm1WebServer.fullyQualifiedName:9510 instead of https://tm1.abcd.com . There is some configuration parameter on Cognos side that makes it return to the public url and that does not strike me.
Internal url http://tm1WebServer.fullyQualifiedName:9510 has no issues. I hit this url and return to the same place.
Can anyone point out where I am going wrong?
We are using Windows 2019 server and TM1 server version is TM1SERVER_APP-AW64-ML-RTM-11.0.915.13-0.
PAW server Works fine.
We have One admin server that has all TM1 servers (databases) and one application (Web Components) and a PAW server on the TM1 side. Cognos has 2 app, 2content and 2web servers in the land scape.
Any help is appreciated. Please let me know if there are any questions.

Hi all,
Here is what I did to resolve.

I configured the External Server URI in the TM1 Application server. The External Server URI points to https://[portalname]. Afterwards, I restarted the service and it worked.
