Commercial and Events sub-forum has gone walkabout?

Post by Paul Segal »

It may be just me, but the Commercial and Events link on the main page doesn't seem to be going anywhere.

I think this was some slop-over from some things that Martin was doing on the site earlier this week. After the last software upgrade it was still possible to connect under HTTP rather than HTTPS. That seems to have been fixed but I noticed that somehow - and I still haven't quite figured out how yet - it causes one of the slashes in my Forum bookmark to not be recognised. The same thing has happened to the main page shortcut to Commercial. For me at least it currently renders as:

Code: Select all

https://www.tm1forum.comviewforum.php/?f=20
Instead of the correct rendering of

Code: Select all

https://www.tm1forum.com/viewforum.php/?f=20
Unfortunately even adding the slash in manually doesn't QUITE work because it renders the page without CSS (or so it appears to me).

You can still get to it... it's just that until it's fixed you need to do it via the link in the main forum rather than via the shortcut on the home page.

Try with 2 slashes, so:

https://www.tm1forum.com//viewforum.php/?f=20

I'm not having the same issue on either Chrome or Edge. I wonder if it's something cached locally for those who regularly visit that URL.

Those of you having the issue, can you try with a different browser? That should help us figure out if it's potentially an issue for new comers. I'm less worried about people like you guys who already know it's there, you'll find a way.

Hi Martin,

I'm getting the same on Firefox, Edge and Chrome. I've cleared the cache on Edge, but no joy.

Thanks

Same problem for me with the disappearing forward slash, I use Chrome.

I've just updated the config file - did that sort it out?

It did for me; the shortcut now works, and so does the home page link to Commercial. Well done...

Great, I'd just missed a trailing slash in the redirect from http to https
