TM1 Turbo Integrator Variabls

Post by appleglaze28 »

Can anyone clarify with me what the TM1 TI variables are since I never got to encounter this in the training. Since I don't seem them being automatically generated by the TI. So I assume that this are commands manually written? Do they work the same way as the TI Function. Any feedback on this would be a great help on understand what and how they are used

Create a new process.

Now look on the Data Source tab. Cycle through the various types of data source; ODBC, Text, TM1 Cube View, etcetera.

See all of the text boxes, radio buttons, check boxes, etcetera on the Data Source tab?

The TI Process variables allow you to change those values dynamically; that is, when the process is run.

Put another way, you can assign values to the variables in the Prolog tab to dynamically change or modify the data source before its processed. For example, if you process a text file which has a different name every day, and the name is based on the current date, you could change the DataSourceNameForServer variable to set the source filename to the one that relates to that day.

Some of the process variables (like Value_Is_String) apply to each row of the data rather than to the data source, but reading up on how those work is left as an exercise for the viewer.
