Hi ,
I have a TM1 Perspective (tm1p.xla file) in the server.
How do I connect this file from the client ?
Like in Architect , we write the IP in Admin Host.
Is there something similar in TM1 Perspective also.
Please Note : I am not talking about the "Connect" Button in the TM1 Perspective file.
I have developed the TM1 Perspective file in the Server and I want the End Users to use it now.
Am just guessing , should I give access to the "Path" in the Server to the Users or is there
any other better way.
Regards,
Roy.

Are your users all connecting to the Server via RDP or something similar?

Hi Paul ,
We will not give any Server access to the End - Users.
Hence, no RDP.

Roy.

OK, so the normal way to do this is to install TM1 Perspectives as an add-in on each client (user) PC, which is then loaded in Excel, rather than access the add-in from a server. Is there a particular reason you want to load the add-in from the server?

Hi Paul ,
I have installed TM1 Perspectives as an add-in on each client (user) PC.
Now , how will the client (user) connect to the TM1 Perspective sheet that I have developed in the Server.

Hi Roy,
Users will Connect themselves in TM1 Perspectives Excel add-in, and then click on the Explorer icon in the TM1 ribbon. This will take them to the Server Explorer.
Or, they click first on teh Explorer icon, and log on in the Server Explorer.
Either way, they will be able to go to Applications in the Server Explorer, select the correct folder and double click on the uploaded sheet.

Re: How to connect TM1 Perspective from client to the Server
Hi Roy,
If you've installed Perspectives on a client machine you can start the add-in from the Perspectives shortcut in the start menu. You can also create your own shortcut to the tm1p.xla file and double-click that to start Perspectives (or you can setup Perspectives to auto load when starting Excel).
When Perspectives is loaded in Excel, you can click the Explorer button on the TM1 ribbon to open Server Explorer and see what TM1 servers are available. Server Explorer is basically the same thing as TM1 Architect. Here you can add an Admin Host IP address just like you do in Architect.

There is another way of giving the Perspective Views to the client (End Users).
You can upload the Perspective View to the TM1 Application Web.
Regards,
Roy.
