TM1 10.2.2 decimal issue. Have APAR, happens to others?

Post by angelnjj »

We upgraded our 10.1.1 DEV environment to 10.2.2 and in the process of user testing found an issue, reported to IBM and they've created an APAR.

Writing forum b/c I'm wondering if others are experiencing same issue when upgrading to TM1 10.2.2.

In TM1 Web: Values from cube (or excel calculations) that are 3+ decimals do not 'render' on the TM1 Websheets - they display as blank cells. If you double click on the cell (as if to update) OR export the websheet to Excel (snapshot or slice) values do appear, however. See screenshots attached.

In Perspectives/Architect: When you type a value (ie 7249.49) into a leaf cell and then right click on the consolidation above and choose calculate, the value you typed in will be carried out to far more decimal places than you originally typed (see screenshot attached). I have not been able to confirm if this is only the case when the user originally spreads a value and then tries to 'tweak' certain cells or if it is for ALL manually typed in values.

The two issues are related in that for any cell with 3+ decimals in the cube they are not displayed on TM1Web.

Talking/logging it with IBM resulted in an APAR and the following email (excerpt):
/*********************
Development has accepted this as a Defect and is in "Open" state.
The APAR number, for your tracking purposes, is PI22340. You should be able to access updates to the APAR via this link:
http://www-01.ibm.com/software/data/cog ... earch.html

Development will update the APAR with their findings once their investigation of the issue has been completed. Findings can include a workaround, a target fix release, etc. Once Development has updated the APAR you will be able to view their findings. You should be able to view the APAR approximately 2 weeks from today.

As of now, the defect looks to be fixed in Fix Pack 1 for TM1 10.2.2, which is due Sep-Dec 2014.

As a followup, the IBM rep kept researching and found a fix for us that once applied, alleviated the issue. If needed, let me know and I'll dig through my notes/emails and send along the info on where to find/how to get.

Thanks.

Hello Angelnjj,

If you don't mind can you post/send the info on where to get this fix? I am planning to upgrade our TM1 server to 10.2.2 and this will be very helpful.

Thanks,
