XDI Files not updating TM1

Guys, I recently hitted the same problem and I found out the reason why my case is not working:
In xdi file update, you need to make sure that all the elements are not replicated in the existing elements / consolidation level, as well as the aliases of the elements / consolidation level. In my case, one of the alias of an element is replaced by a consolidation level with the same name. It seems TM1 will ignore the xdi update if they found conflicts in elements / aliases in the new file. I need to rename the alias of the element, and the upload the xdi file, and then the dimension is updated properly.

Not sure if this was stated or not but we had an issue where XDIs did not appear to update. The reason was that there was a duplicate name/alias in the XDI and what we found is that saving the XDI would produce no error but also wouldn't update. If you check the error log after hitting update XDI you should see the issue. Once you fix that it should begin to update again.
