rule save time wait problem

Post by mrdauduong »

hi,

i have a client who have some cube with a lot of rules with 1 big dimension (2 millions elements) and some other small dimension.

the problem today is i have to wait at least 5 hours for save rules if i change something in rule editor (and for make new rule or make a correction, i have to test a lot)

any tips to reduce the waiting time of save rule in this case? :?

thank a lof for help.

Hi,

Someone appears to have thrown you in at the deep end, my sympathies!

Looking at all your posts, it seems to me you are trying to run before you can walk, no wait you are trying to enter the 100m Olympic final before you can walk!

Can any of the rules be turned into TI processes, if you don't know what a TI process is, this might help:

Quick and dirty for testing new rules etc could be to remove nearly all the data, except that which you need to proove out rule changes.

Depends if are you trying to solve "I need to get these rules written and tested" or "How to improve the compile time of the rules" As others have indicated the latter can be one of the most challenging jobs.

Good luck!

One important piece of advice, sometimes difficult conversations with the clients are necessary!

I mean when they make tea in the morning they have to click a button right?
