Currently mode 1 users are unable to change their password in Pafe.
I've had to raise an RFE to try and get this added to the product (....words fail me...)

I'd appreciate any votes that can be cast in my "ideas" direction.

It is like IBM is not even trying to create a decent replacement for Perspectives... One vote from me as well!Steve Rowe wrote: ↑Wed Apr 21, 2021 12:17 pm Currently mode 1 users are unable to change their password in Pafe.
There is no OLAP database besides TM1!

From IBM:
For those who are in the cafe, I'll elaborate my thoughts over there.Changed status to 'Not under consideration'. Our strategy is to detach authentication and password management from TM1 and Planning Analytics. No enhancements are planned for TM1 security modes 1-5.

I can understand IBM's sentiment but the development time to get this done could be measured in HOURS. It's just building a dialog.Alan Kirk wrote: ↑Thu Jun 10, 2021 3:39 am From IBM:

I do not know what to say about that. I proves AGAIN that those people at IBM do neither know how their product works nor how people use it.
Especially because I fear now that they want to force us to use their crapware CAM for authentication.

Holding the product direction discussion to the side, this is a learning opportunity for me: With regards to Mode 1 users being able to change their own passwords, wouldn't it be as simple as writing a process that invokes AssignClientPassword for the TM1User()?

Yes you could write the code yourself along the lines suggested.
As to if this is an acceptable solution, I think we could debate for ages, so perhaps we shouldn't...
