PAX (400) Bad Request

Post by John Hammond »

PAX is very poor in that if it generates a Bad Request you get (400) Bad Request HTTP error, the java stack and nothing else, although it would be easy enough for IBM to generate a meaningful message.

So here is my attempt to create a topic where investigations behind the dreaded 400 can be posted to give others an idea of what the real cause was.

Will get the ball rolling - this can be a mal formed Quick Report. Go to the task pane -> Workbooks -> Quickreports right click and Show Report

This shows you the Context, Rows and Columns. The problem will usually be the context, as you have likely deleted the row that contain the details. [Base] (the sandbox) might be missing or a context dim. Use name manager to change tm1\\_n_S to include all context dims.

Exception of type 'Cognos.Office.Tm1.Connections.RedirectException' was thrown

Didnt login before clicking on action button. Not all objects in PAX redirect you to log in!
