9.0 sp2 perspectives not open

Post by andre lie »

I use windows vista business, office 2007 and tm1 9.4 mr1. i can open tm1 perspectives successfully from IBM Cognos -> TM1 menu
However, i also want to be able to open 9.0 Perspectives.

What I have done normally in windows xp pro and excel 2003, is that i just copy the folder applix (9.0) from program files to any other folder, and then directly click the tm1p.xla. The prespectives will open without problem.

Now I am using vista and office 2007. I do the same approach, but i get this message #1:
"Opening the VBA project in this file requires a component that is not currently installed. This file will be opened without vba project"

I click ok, then this message #2 appears
"Run time error '-2147024769 (8007007f). Automation error. The specified procedure could not be found"

I click End, then there is a final pop up window message #3 "This woorkbook has lost its VBA project, Active X controls and any other programmability related features"

I click close. The TM1 menu not appear in my excel 2007

I have seen other PCs could launch tm1 9.0 and 9.4 successfully even though there are message #1 and #3, but there is not message #2

I have re-install twice but no success

Thanks
Andre

Hi Andre,
9.0 and Vista / Excel 2007 is not a supported environment AFAIK. There a few threads on getting it to work with Excel 2007 which you can search for but I'm not sure about Vista.

You're right, it's not a supported environment, but I'm able to run 9.0 SP3 on a Vista Ultimate machine with Excel 2007. (Though I usually use 2003 instead.)

I haven't encountered any problems with it.

However the difference is that I've actually installed 9.0, whereas Andre has 9.4 installed and is just trying to open the loose files from the bin directory for 9.0.

I smell registration issues, but finding a fix might take some time, if it's possible at all.
