Web App Customiser

Post by hbell »

One of the FAQs mentions a "Web App Customiser". I've optimistically trawled the IBM website for details of this useful sounding product, but found nothing. Assume it is provided by another software company?

thanks ... hugh

Did you read all the way through the thread? (Yes I know it's long and prone to digression, but that's true of many around here. :D ) It's an IBM (originally Applix) product, but not one which was part of the standard application download.

Originally (and this part isn't in the thread) it was available for download from a short-lived abortion of a site named Applix On Demand which had several tools (some useful, some not). After the Applix support sites (including that one) folded, I'm not sure that it ever was uploaded to one of the Cognos ones. As I recall Adam had to get his copy from an IBM support person. I can't find it anywhere on IBM either, though finding ANYTHING on there could be a life long vocation.

You'd be best contacting IBM support and asking for a copy. (I don't think that we can post it here due to copyright issues.) Don't expect too much of it, though; it's basically not much more than a graphical user interface that allows you to change the colour scheme, some of the graphic objects and the images on the login page. It doesn't allow you to create a "real" web site with custom html pages and the like.
