TM1 Performance Issue

Post by Peter Picazio »

One of our users is experiencan issue (see attached) when trying to connect to TM1. She is using TM1 perspectives. The particular file is pulling data from a cube. Trying to understand what this means and what would cause it.

This normally happens because you have a large file open pointed at a server when you try and connect to the server.

With calc on automatic or TM1REBUILDOPTION=1 there will often be a delay while the excel environment is calculated before the server explorer completes its log in.

How do I reset the TM1Rebuild Option to 0 instead of 1?

The Instructions say to do the following:
1. On the IBM Planning Analystics tab, click Options.

How do i find the IBM Planning Analytics tab?
I do not see it.

Hi Peter,

The TM1REBUILDOPTION is set in Excel under Formulas=>Name Manager and is attached to individual Excel sheet with TM1 Slices.

You need to set the value to 0 and save your excel report.

Side remark. I don't use too many shortcuts in Excel but those that I use include F3:

- Ctrl-F3 = Name Manager
- F3 in a formula or conditional formatting or elsewhere brings up a dialog screen with the defined names. Useful to pick the one you need.
