}PlanningControl What is this system cube? What is it for?

Post by Drg »

One of these days has found out the system cube a cube consists of two measurements.
}ApplicationNames , }ApplicationParameters

It is strange that the cube is filled from the user(in transaction log file) '*'
There is no official documentation
Can anyone explain what this cube is and why it is needed?
The point is that I'm in the business of replicating it or not ...

I don't see this cube on any of my systems except for those which have had "TM1 Applications" (Contributor) published at some point (none currently do). I can only assume this is created by Performance Modler. In the ApplicationParameters there are some params that refer to the "TUnit" which is the offline sync model for the Cognos Insight client in offline entry mode, so maybe the cube has something to do with determining which data and metadata needs to be synced to the TUnit directory.

I don't know for sure so don't want to point you in the wrong direction but bottom line if you are not using Performance Modler or "TM1 Application Web" then this cube can be safely disregarded and nuked.
Please place all requests for help in a public thread. I will not answer PMs requesting assistance.
