TM1 Active Form

Post by TTH »

Hi all,

I am having a problem with Active Form. I am using TM1 version 10.1.1 with no possibility to upgrade at the moment.

I have built a solution with Perspectives and published a websheet to Application Web. Everything works fine except data entering. I am using DBRW function in active form to retrieve data from cube and send it back after entering data. When user enters data, it recalculates the whole workbook everytime and it is not a good thing as a user point of view. The same happens both with enter button, arrows and if I try to click another cell. I already changed Excel workbook calculation mode to "Manual", but it didn't resolve my problem.

So my question is:

1) Is there any possibility to get the workbook work the same way than normal cube view does? So when no "Enter" is pressed, the cell remains green and after I press "enter", the cell goes blue.
2) If not, does this have something to do with our version of TM1, so does upgrading offer any help?

Thanks in advance!

Try set the TM1REBUILDOPTION to 0 - this should really only have an impact when opening the workbook but is something to try.

In terms of an argument in favour of upgrading, a client upgraded to 10.1.1 and noticed that ActiveForms that were normally generating in about 3-5 minutes (60,000 rows+) now never seemed to finish. We tested and found they did finish but it took over 30 minutes to do so. Using the 9.5.2 FP3 client connected to the 10.1.1 server cut the runtime back down again to expected levels. They continued to use 9.5.2 FP3 clients.
If you have the 9.5.2 FP3 client, it may be worthwhile checking the behaviour to see if it may be a version issue or something else.

Guessing you have tested on multiple workstations-if not another thing to try.

I was aware of this REBUILDOPTION, but did'nt try it before, because I read somewhere that this option needs to be 1 when using Active Forms. In any case, I tried it, but it didn't work. So I'm still looking for other options.

Thank you gtonkin for your reply.

Apologies TTH-focused on the perspectives side, not Web-is the issue only happening within TM1 web? If so, then Mark's link is more than likely going to solve the issue, however if not mistaken, you will need to be on 10.2.2 FP1 to take advantage of this new setting.
