Copying data?

Post by rcoppa »

Hi there,

Is there a way to copy data within the cube browser? For example if a user wanted to populate a forecast or budget version with the prior year actuals?

At the moment I do this via TI, but it would be great if the users could do it themselves.

TIA.

Hi,

Yes there is. You can use Spreading ('Relative Proportional Spread') in the cubeviewer. Given you have consolidations for all elements in each dimension (or at least the ones you want to copy) it is one 'spread'.

You can also use copy/paste from the clipboard into cube viewer or TM1 Web.

(To do the same in Excel over a range of DBRW formulas you would need to use a 3rd party tool but it is possible.)

Yet another way is to slice it out to excel and DBSEND it back where you want.
