User unable to see objects in TM1(User by Cognos BI)

Post by njangid »

Hi TM1 Experts,

Need your urgent help.

We have an TM1 application, we are trying to access TM1 via Cognos BI (i.e users is added in IBM cognos connection) IntegratedSecurityMode =5.
After successfully adding the user as Directory and Server administrator group, we tried to open architect.
Although login succeded, but we are unable to see any objects, i.e no cubes, dimensions etc(See attached pic).

Are we missing out any small configuration somewhere.
Please let me know if you need any more info.
Any help will be appreciated.:)

Thanks,
Naresh

You need to import these groups into TM1 and assign access to the various objects in TM1. How else would TM1 know that the members of the group HOBBITSES should have read access to the cube MiddleEarth and the members of the group ORKSES should have write access to the cube Mordor?

You can add these groups manually via Architect > Security > Clients/Groups > Groups > Add New Group (this will let you browse the Cognos groups and choose which ones you want to add to TM1). Alternatively, you can use TI to add groups with the names that match the CAMID of the Cognos groups. Once you have these groups in TM1 assign cube / dimension / element / etc security to these groups and that's it.

Since you have to be admin to do the above you might have to temporarily start the server in IntegratedSecurityMode=1 and make your CAM user admin or create the groups in that mode.
