Dear TM1 Experts
We found a weird issue with TM1 behavior.
I have recently installed Fix Pack4 on 10.2.2 version. Since then, am unable to open Rules editor in Perspectives. But it opens well in Architect. Neither advanced nor classic editor opens. FYI, This is when am trying with TM1 client directly on the server where TM1 is installed.
We use 32 bit MS Excel 2010. To be very specific the excel version is 14.0.4760.1000(32-bit).
TM1 version is TM1 10.2.2.4 and OS is Windows 64bit.
Options I tried:
AdvancedRuleEditor value is set to T and also to F, but both doesn't work.
Tried with 32-bit TM1 Perspectives client too, but no luck.
Please advise.
Thanks,
Pavan

Re: Rules Editor doesn't Open in Perspectives but Opens in Architect
If changing the tm1p.ini file make sure that all perspectives or architect sessions are closed first otherwise changes will be overwritten and you might not have been testing what you thought you were.
Did you ever use extended desktop with the server rdp session or have changed the number of screens? Sometimes if you go from 3 screens to 2 or from 2 to 1 the window is open but is somewhere you can't see it.

Please place all requests for help in a public thread. I will not answer PMs requesting assistance.

Re: Rules Editor doesn't Open in Perspectives but Opens in Architect
Thanks much for quick response. Yes. I closed the perspectives session before I make changes. Also to be sure, I stopped all tm1 services including admin server, and restarted after making changes. This is on server PC, with admin account. So this will not allow multiple desktops sharing as we access server through remote desktop. I tried on both my monitors but no luck. normally if it opens up somewhere atleast the window launcher should exist on task bar, but its not. So its not opening at all.
Not sure whats wrong with only perspectives.

Re: Rules Editor doesn't Open in Perspectives but Opens in Architect
The issue is RESOLVED through PMR ticket with IBM.
Here is the solution:
1) close all your excel and TM1 sessions
2) In all the tm1p.ini files available on your machine, use AdvancedRulesEditor = F and Save.
The reason behind the issue is that latest version of TM1 doesn't support Advanced Rules Editor.
However, how this works well on Architect is still an open question
