Tm1 Backup file compare

Post by ravi »

Hi All,

We take weekly tm1 data backup every saturday night from PRD environment.

When we use these tm1 back up data/files for any of Development/enhancement purspose- we tend to compare backup data files with PRD environment for folder size, number of rux, cub, and all other tm1 folder and objects within data folder and this task is time consuming.

Is there way to automate it or best practice you can share/advise.

Regards,
Ravi

You could do worse than to look at WinMerge.

You could also look at SyncToy - Microsoft and Free.

It can be called from TI/Task scheduler/Ad-hoc with parameters to trigger a pre-configured folder pair. The process can add changed files, keep counter-part mirrored etc.

In case your version numbering in your profile is outdated and you are already on version 10.2.x you might consider having a look at the transfer functionality provided by Performance Modeler.
