Has anyone experience any slowness in terms of calculation using Excel 2003SP3 & TM1Web after upgrading to 9.4MR1 from 9.1SP3? In terms of hardware & worksheet, nothing has changed. Here is an example...on TM1web we have a sheet that took less then 2 minutes to update on 9.1SP3 & now it taking about 10+ minutes to update on 9.4MR1. Is anyone encountering this issue? I wanted to check with this forum prior to opening a SR ticket.
Thank you

Re: TM1 9.4MR1 Performance Issue
Hello Rod,
Yes, we have it too. i have been searching my ass off for this problem but do not find the solution.
In my case I found out it only appears when I select elements from my dimension periods. For jan & feb it still works as performant as before.
The other months are about 10 times less performant (regardless the chosen year).
Also over here we did no changes in the published files, not in the cubes, nor in the rules. It has been installed since 29/12/08 and now suddenly started to appear since last week tuesday.
I'm really out of ideas and will make and SR ticket too (Cognos Germany) but I'm woundering how the hell to get this phenomenom explained.
To cue most important things I have tested and did not bring any solution:
Shrinking down the file to basics (no formatting, no special things): njet!
Scratching old files in the Inetpub/wwwroot/excelsheets: njet!
Deleting any appearing $ files on main server: njet!
Restarting services main server and web server: njet!
Things I discovered and seem bizarre:
use of same simension, smaller file: works
Shrinking down the number of accessed data lines: works
In my case web server looses connection with main server. If i query the same file for the month January or february, the problem doesn't appear.
For the other months, it takes extremely long and in 90% of the cases connection gets lost.
Afterwards you can only browse in the Applix tree (on web), nothings else works (get error message 85).
I haven't done any changes to my period dimension since last year November (adding an attribute).
So i don't think it has to do with my Period dimension, it only looks very strange it occurs with some months (10) and with 2 not at all.
Over here this problem is getting really critical. If you already have a solution or already had a usefull reply from helpdesk at your side, please inform me.
I need a solution AND fast.

Re: TM1 9.4MR1 Performance Issue
William,
Prior to 9.4MR1, the application was installed on 2 different boxes (web server & data server) which was working great under 9.1SP3 without any speed issue. After installing 9.4MR1, we didn't notice the speed issue until days later when we were getting calls from our users. We had no changes to our hardware nor connection settings. Everything was the same except for 9.4MR1. We even tried 9.4 file patch 1. After spending hours in troubleshooting the system with no luck, we installed the web server component (TM1web & Executive Viewer) onto the data server which did address the speed issue that we encountered. This was our last option before we open up a ticket.
