Hello All
I want your experience input on
Is there any performance difference between TM1 Web and TM1 Contributor conceptually? If so, what could be the conceptual factors affecting this ?
Reason to raise this question:
I went to many post as well as i tried experiment on this. I tried out to find the difference between two. In TM1 Web, once we input the data it turns in to green and in to black thereafter. It doesn't turn in to blue so it saves time over there.
In my test to input data at consolidation in TM1 contributor takes average 4 seconds to update one cell due to big approval hierarchy. To update input data in a cell at leaf level takes less than a second.
While in the TM1 Web, when i entered input data , it takes average 1.5 seconds to update one cell with same approval hierarchy. To update input data in a cell at leaf level takes less than 0.600 micro second.
In short i saw, increase in performance at least by 50 %
I am appreciating your inputs, efforts and time would spend behind it.
Thank You
Dharav Patel

If you intend to use the workflow features, i.e., approval hierarchy, then you'll have to use Contributor so it doesn't matter which one is faster. The reason it takes longer to input at a consolidated level is because whatever you input has to be spread among all the children of the node you entered into. Leaf entry is only one input cell. Consolidated input could, theoretically, be millions.

ANother thing to keep in mind is that Contributor actually uses TM1 Web for it's input templates so you could kind of say the question is mute anyway,
