Competing Text formats

Post by fourfive »

I'm attempting to create a cube that users can input data to, it's a mix of numeric input and text input. I've mocked it up below
MixedTextandNumeric.PNG
MixedTextandNumeric.PNG (26.34 KiB) Viewed 2315 times
The dimension displayed on the rows with elements 'Source' through to 'Deal100' has Source formatted to allow a pick list of Country.
The dimension on the columns with elements 'Comment', 'Deal Type' and P01 through to P12 has 'Comment' as text and 'Deal Type' as a Pick List, the P01 etc as numeric.

Users input Comments, deal type Source and values.

My problem is the formats compete so depending on the dimension order, one or the other prevails. Is there a solution?

Have done any research on string elements and their limitations? I would start there,
