Can i alter the cube TM1 Cube package?

Post by gandikota »

Hi All,

If i see DMR Package and TM1 Cube package in Cognos Report, there are differences in the look and feel and also DMR package contains some extra members and levels drop downs than TM1 cube package.

Actually, i tried to create some data items in the Framework Manager TM1 cube package to bring in sink with the DMR Look and feel. But i could not.My question is that

Can i achieve above differences in my TM1 Cube Package?

My understanding is that the TM1 Framework Manager package is a 'lightweight' package (like PowerCubes).
In other words, all the metadata is read "live" from TM1 and is not stored in the model. So you can't do extra modelling in Framework Manager (add query items etc.).

While you cannot alter the FM package you can achieve the levels by naming them in the }HierarchyProperties control cube. Beyond that there isn't really anything you can do to modify the look and feel of the metadata model within FM. A big benefit to TM1 however is the ability to have calculated attributes. This can allow for some pretty creative things in BI.

At the moment in the FM you can only decide which alias to use for each language in each dimension. In addition to this you can only decide the name of the cube and package in FM. That's pretty much it.
