TM1 View Caching and Settings

I have a fairly large cube that Im testing in TM1, more of a reporting cube. What Im noticing is that if I switch from say a single month to the total year as a title elment it might take 8 seconds to respond. Then if I go through the same steps, back to the month and then back to the year it still takes the same 8 seconds to respond. What Im looking for is whether or not this is expected or can be controlled.

Ive looked into the VMM VMT settings but Im hoping someone can help relate those settings to this issue. I realize that a large view (over 60MB by default) won't necessarily get held. And that looking at multiple views of any size may invalidate the cache. But is this really my issue or is TM1 always going to peform the real time summation?

My cube is about as simple as it gets although it has over 25 dimensions. No calcs, just lots of data.
