How different is TM1-CITRIX environment from normal setup ?
What I understood it that when you log on to Citrix you get a seperate PROFILE on CITRIX server ....
Like in CITRIX:
Where is the tm1p.ini file ? APPLIX folder on local machine from where we connected or on Citrix machine ?
Where are other CONF files like ..... TM1S.cfg, webconfig etc are located ?
Also when there is a REMOTE server kind setup ..... how these ini/conf files are distributed among local machine and remote TM1 server.
I have only used TM1 on single machine setup.... so it is becoming bit difficult for me to understand.
thanks.

Re: Citrix environment
You might be better just googling something along the lines of "how does citrix work?"/"what is a citrix environment?" etc since there is very little difference between how TM1 workes through a citrix environment and how any other software does. (Assuming in this case you are referring to the use of architect/perspectives through a citrix desktop.)
But essentially the basic concept is that your physical PC/desktop becomes somewhat irrelevant and you should imagine the citrix desktop as if it is a PC in its own right, it will have its own appdata folders etc and you will be able to find any files in the same way that you could on your PC.
This is of course a very basic generalisation but there is no need to overcomplicate a fairly basic concept... unless of course you have been tasked with actually setting up the environment and then its a bit different.

Re: Citrix environment
Thanks for the reply Declan.
I googled it ..... but not able to find specific to Citrix.
I am talking from ADMIN perspective. But I think Citrix environment is only for Clients who connect.
For a ADMIN may be CITRIX env does not matter .... because he has direct access to TM1 server (using NETOP/mstsc or other remote logging utility) , on which he can do install/recover/backup like activities.
May be some TM1 Admin/Support guys using Citrix env in their company can comment on this.

Hello TF34375
I have run TM1 on citrix for many years and I might be able to answer some of your questions.
Assuming you do not have roaming citrix profiles, the TM1p.ini file will be copied form the All users\application data\applix\tm1 into each use at the point they log on to that citrix server. From memory (and it has to be because I no longer have visibility into the citrix servers) It is stored in <<USER NAME>>\Application data\applix\tm1. It there fore follows that you could have different TM1p.ini files on different Citrix servers. that would be one primary differencr between a local client and citrix client.
If you have a roaming profile, then you may have another central source where the user accounts are held. In that case you will have a level of consistency across all te servers.
When you connect via citrix, only the citrix client is installed on the local machine, there is no TM1 footprint at all on the local machine.
TM1s.CFG is the database config file and is determined at the point you install the tm1 instance as a service. I have only run the database on a separate server from the Citrix machine and I am presuming that you are doing something similar based on your latest reply. For that reason there will be no TM1s.cfg on the Citrix machine.
Let me know if this answers what you need or if you have anything more specific, I will glady assist where I can.
