Re: Cognos Insight on Citrix
If you mean Citrix's virtual machine technology, there's no reason TM1 shouldn't be compatible with any version of it, since it mimics all the functions of the host operating system.
Many customers run TM1 on Citrix servers, with the TM1 server/s located close to Citrix server to reduce lag. This kind of set up is most effective when users are distributed across the globe, or on low bandwidth connections.

Re: Cognos Insight on Citrix
Just back from Vision 2013.
And was wondering - If Cognos Insight is installed and running on Citrix, when an Insight user 'pulls' a slice of cube data into Insight, is that data (memory usage) now on the Citrix server's memory?
If several users also load up a personal dataset on the same Citrix server, isn't there a risk of using up all the memory on the Citrix server?

Re: Cognos Insight on Citrix
Of course. That's the nature of the beast when running memory-intensive client apps via Citrix. It's just another one of the things you have to plan for and manage when you decide to go the Citrix route. I would never recommend a client run Insight via Citrix for this very reason. Arhcitect and Persectives should be fine but Insight, at least in it's current form, is a piece of crap and probably should not be run on Citrix unless you know the local "models" will always be small.jcr55 wrote:If several users also load up a personal dataset on the same Citrix server, isn't there a risk of using up all the memory on the Citrix server?
