Disconnect client

Post by s_wang »

Can security admin disconnect a client or only the full admin? I can't get it working.

Also is there another way to disconnect a client? My boss like to have full admin access just for this purpose and I am kind of reluctant to give him that because he never expose to tm1 before on the admin side.

Any suggestion?

Whether Security Admin can dc a user or not: have you read about this group in the manual?

Other methods: did you do a search for this? If you do you'll find that there are few topics covering the options. The only real solution (apart from doing it manually within security or from within TM1 top) seems to be using the API.

I did some reading on the manual but all it tell me that role can add/delete/modify the client/group, it doesn't specific said if this role can disconnect the client or not.

By the way I did some research on this topic and it came back with too many entries and I need the answer pretty quickly.

Thanks

I've done some testing on the security admin group and it does indeed look like they can't disconnect users. I guess that would make sense. You have to to be admin to cancel threads in TM1Top and disconnecting a user is after all stopping a thread. It looks like you are back to the 2 options already mentioned:

1) Make him full admin or
2) Create something he can use within Excel and VBA

Good luck,

Jim.

PS. When asking this kind of question going forward you might want to include the version number of the software. I've tested this 10.1.
