Hello,
I'm with TM1 9.5.2 and in my company it is said the tm1 web interface is not enough user friendly. So I'm thinking about EV, anyone got some feedback (about how the users appreciate the product ?)
By the way, i have been said that EV should be able to be also plug on SSAS cubes, other feedback on that point ?
Thanks in advance,
Stéphane

Re: Feedback on Executive Viewer
Hey There,
EV is more of BI tool than TM1 Web. It is able to connect and bring TM1 information back really quickly (Same as web if they are within the same LAN. Network cluster even better) and user are able to build their own views. You can easily create graphical results incorporating all kinds of stuff. You can also include EV objects within web pages. (Which works well)
My bug bears are that the graphics are a little basic. They have started to look old compared to something like Qlikview. The way EV works is a little different and can take some getting used to.
I would search for EV on this forum to see other posts / news,
Jim.

Re: Feedback on Executive Viewer
We have developed some very nice demos using EV. You can get very user-friendly graphical interfaces up and running quickly. However, I find the interface a bit non-intuitive and it really doesn't fit in well with the general direction Cognos are moving in terms of look and feel ( a separate discussion there.....)
Also, I personally have doubts about IBM's commitment to EV going forward. My guess is they will replace it with a Cognos product and it will fade away. If you are looking for something tactical or medium term it is not a problem but if you are looking for something long term and strategic it may be.

Stephen, IBM have already sold the right to develop EV. They will retain it for Express, but it will be developed and sold by somebody else as well. http://www.cubus.eu/news.html?newsid=66
