Windows 7, TM1 Perspectives and Ctrl+Alt+Del

I have just had my work laptop "upgraded" and am now running Windows 7 - previously XP - and have noticed something strange when locking the screen.

If my active window is TM1 Perspectives and I hit Ctrl+Alt+Del (so I can then select lock the screen), it actually sends a Delete command to TM1 prior to bringing up the lock screen/task manager etc menu. When I then unlock the screen I have been faced with 2 "Do You Want to delete the cube Yes, No , Cancel" dialogs plus I tried to delete the whole server seemingly!!!

This didn't happen previously under XP and is slightly dangerous if you have any admin rights to whatever you have highlighted in Perspectives!!

If I am in any other application I don't see the same thing happen and the lock screen/task manager menu comes up as expected

I'm on Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 and this happens with TM1 versions 9.1.3 and 9.5.2.

We have experienced the same on all Windows 7 laptops I've tried so far (admittedly only 3) and I haven't been able to find a Windows 7 workstation to try it on yet.

Has anyone else experienced the same or is it a something peculiar to our company machines and is there any workaround (other than Windows key+L to lock the screen)

EDIT - Forgot to add I access TM1 Perspectives via Citrix but we do not see the same happening in Excel that runs the Perspectives add-in

I see the same behaviour, Perspectives 9.5.2 Win7 (no Citrix). I guess, I never tried this before.

Use Windows + L to lock your workstation. Its faster and you won't have the quirk.

I'm not encountering it on a Compaq notebook running Windows 7 Ultimate and 10.1.1. (Don't have a Win 7 laptop / notebook with any of the earlier versions to test.) Though (a) as others have suggested I normally use Windows + [L] to lock anyway and (b) when I do use the [Ctrl] + [Alt] + [Delete] combo I actually do it in that order; my left hand has already pressed [Ctrl]+[Alt] before my right hand hits [Del]. If you're trying to hit all three simultaneously I'm wondering if the [Del] could actually be sneaking through first. (Though if that's all it is it's curious that Gabor is reporting the same behaviour.)

Thought about that and it happens if I hold down Ctrl + Alt and then press Delete.

I normally use [Win + L] to lock though.

That's interesting; you're seeing it on 10 and I'm not (though I'm 10.1.1) BUT I'm now wondering if perhaps it's the x64 thing that makes a difference; that it's a Windows issue rather than a specifically TM1 issue. Most of the previous posts haven't said which incarnation of Win 7 they're using. Mine's still 32 bit.

I noticed this bug back in version 9. Such a simple, yet highly dangerous little quirk!

I use Windows-L to lock my screen, so don't see it often.

So much for that theory, though it's interesting that while it's not a problem on my 32 bit notebook I am getting it on a Win 7 x64 desktop with 9.5.2 on board.
