Folks,
Two levels of security for TM1 Contributor models:
1. on the Approval Hierarchy
2. cube level
Standard situtaion of staff planning have many named employees belonging to one cost centre or in product planning having many SKUs belonging to a given customer.
Am searhing for a method that allows me to load the simple relationships from a file. Clearly i have no appetite for doing this manually cube by cube.
I have only recently passed the accrredition so forgive these probably obvious points. This was not in the training.
Thanks
Mark

Re: v10.1 Loading Access Rights from a File
Unfortunately no replies to this posting... so i have had to figure it out for myself.
Solution
The trick (probably known to all members of the forum) is to load the access rules into the security control cube - in my case '}ElementSecurity_Employees' where 'Employees' is my dimension. These control cubes are created as metadata for all objects.
The Performance Modeler data loading/mapping tool(TI Process) was a bit cumbersome so instead i elected to load my access rights into a a dedicated cube and then create a Link to pass this cube to the '}ElementSecurity_Employees'. Convert the link to TI Process (instead of generate rule option). This Link method is a far easier mapping tool that the TI mapping. Process works perfectly.

Re: v10.1 Loading Access Rights from a File
The only thing to be careful of is that contributor holds security for the approval dimension in a cube as well as a XML file in apache. When you are using the interface to modify security your back end cube changes won't show up as they seem to be loaded based on the XML file. We were looking for a way to allow certain power users to controll security on the approval hierarchy. It's not out of the box but I believe it could be done.
