Two Column Dimension Import Circular Ref Error

How should the top node item in a two column (Parent Child) import look? Currently Im trying to copy a dimension from another dimension but im not sure what the parent is for the top node. If I leave it blank I get an error about element not found and if I set it to be the same as the element it gives me a circular reference.

I found a reasonable solution. In my case I just check to see if the item being check has a parent and if so then run the generated statements if not do nothing. I realize that this wouldn't bring in any items that had no parents but in my case that can't happen.
