Post by mzatta »

Anyone know when this is happening?

Seems to be a lot of silence at IBM about the question

thanks

Hi

For Xcelerator Client, it should be included in the next major release, maybe H1 2012, but not this year.
We have just raised an enhancement request at IBM Support about this.

Although not officially supported, Excel 2010 and CX 9.5.1 work perfectly, we have had a few minor issues with Active Forms.
At this stage IBM has its hands full with TM1 10 and the push to integrate it into CX suggests H1 2012 is a bit far fetched.

Lack of official Excel 2010 support for Cognos Express is increasingly causing us problems with new and existing customers. From what I have heard, IBM are going to wait ill the release of TM1 10 (or whatever) before the next release of CX. On previous experience there will be a gap of several months between TM1 "10" and CX "10" so I am not holding my breath on this one.

To me the obvious solution would be to incorporate TM19.5.2 in CX which really shouldn't be a major task. I raised this with the CX product management team 6 months ago and again more recently but couldn't make any headway. Can I encourage any other people out there with this issue to raise it , not just with support, but with the IBM sales reps and account managers as well.
