Hi,
I'm using 8.4.2 and Excel 2003
I want to lock users out of previous forecasts, elements in a dimension
Right click on the dimension, choose security, change the status for all user groups to read from write and save. Close and then go back through the process to check it works...which it does.
The next day go through the process again to find security status set to write
Check the logs that shows that admin changed the status to write seemingly from blank (white space)....but this happened an hour before Admin logged on...so a bit of a mystery. I only have one Chore running ...Save All Data...so can't see how the changes are being made
Any guidance gratefully received
Security issue

Re: Security issue
What time zone is your log running in? If you haven't told it otherwise it'll be running in GMT. I'm guessing from your hour time difference that you're in the UK (or on that dateline) and in BST.

Re: Security issue
knowing that the log is GMT is helpful - I'm on 8.4.2 so don't think i can change this
what seems to be happening is that the 'system' is deleting the security cube associated with the dimension - that's why i can see on the log that when i reactivate the security it is updating from a blank 'cell' - its new in short...which is puzzling to say the least
so what i did on monday was to add a rule that i hope will 'anchor' the cube and not 'allow' it to 'disappear'. I'm not at the client until Thursday so won't know until then if that has worked
