I’m having an issue where I cannot add an element to a dimension despite the element not existing in the dimension, or as an alias of an element of an existing element.
The error message is:
Component already exists in the consolidaiton xxx
where xxx is the element I am inserting the new element as a child of.
The version of TM1 the client is using is TM1 8.4
Thanks,
Dan

Re: Error manually adding an element to a dimension
Dan,
Can you insert it as a parentless element and then move it to parent xxx?

Re: Error manually adding an element to a dimension
I still think that the most likely reason is an alias. Are your aliases by any chance calculated by rules? Could that explain it?
I would try opening the Attribute Editor rather than the }ElementAttributes cube, and look for any red text that might indicate a duplicate alias problem - it might be the consolidation that has the duplicate alias rather than the element you are trying to add.
