Hi OLAP people!

I have a role with an investment Bank in London who are looking for a TM1 Support Analyst:

You will act as a support and development resource for the London Cognos TM1 system: this will involve:
Technical administration of the systems and infrastructure
1st line Support and User Management
Daily monitoring and trouble shooting of data loads
Ad-hoc investigations / reporting on behalf of the business
Involvement in development of reports as necessary to meet users’ needs
Maintain and develop cubes, processes and rules to meet business requirements
Maintaining system documentation
Analyse system architecture and implement changes as the system grows in size
Assist in supporting other reporting applications in the Finance Technology portfolio
Understand and support the London management reporting and budget and planning processes
Assist with Finance Technology change initiatives
Progress reporting to management, including timely communication of any issues and risks
Follow IT governance standards & IT best practices
Compliance with Standard Bank policies and procedures
Share knowledge and participate as a team member within the IT division

Essential Knowledge :
Deep knowledge of Finance MI Reporting and Budgeting and Planning systems and its application for management reporting and budgeting tasks preferably using tools such as Cognos TM1 or SAP ? Business Objects Reporting and Planning tools
Broad knowledge of reporting applications including OLAP technologies
Good understanding of system support and administration requirements to ensure stability and robustness of production environment performance and availability
Basic SQL development skills

General knowledge of:
Software development lifecycle, including design trade-offs, development practices, change control and configuration management
Basic accounting background
Data management (e.g. mastering of data, merging of records, archiving)
Microsoft technologies and products
Understanding of multi-dimensional databases (knowledge of specific system not required)
Competent managing / manipulating / loading data using MS Excel

Beneficial knowledge:
Exposure to MI Reporting tools such as Business Objects, SAP BW, QlikView etc
Understanding of system security issues (i.e. controlling access via user profiles)
Investment Banking Industry and an appreciation of Front Office operations

Experience:
Good experience gained within Cognos TM1 or equivelent development and support roles.
Experience in an IT support role, managing business stakeholders, solving technical issues and providing a high level of service to the customer base
Good experience in translating business reporting requirements into efficient and manageable solutions
Experience of the IT development lifecycle and governance
Experience of management reporting and budgeting processes

London's a pretty good place to be a TM1 developer right now. 70k is a perfectly good salary, but it's not going to have too many high flyers dropping their juicy contracts.

In addition to which, remember that we have a fairly global membership. The 54 hits may well be from those who took a look out of curiosity (including myself) but for whom the daily commute might be a bit too onerous even if we were interested. :)
