Error Occured While Adding Group

Post by PlanningDev »

Anyone have this issue before?

"Error Occured While Adding Group"

We go in and try a second time and it adds. We then assign security etc. and all seems well. After restarting the server the group disappears.

We have the basic out of the box TM1 Security

Very strange

Is the Group name you are trying to add a unique name?

There is also a maximum number of groups that can be added between server refreshes. The default is 20. You may need to change this (the parameter is GroupsCreationLimit) in the TM1S.CFG file and restart.

It appears that there was a rule referencing a group that was deleted which caused the entire rule file to fail. This in turn was giving the TM1 processes to add groups a problem. Fixing this seems to have fixed it.

Just an FYI if anyone else runs into this.

Hi Avinash,

I try to give few solutions, try your luck it may work:

Solution: Please check the rules once again, if there are any invalid rules we get this kind of issues.

Sol2: change security mode in tm1s.cfg from 5 to 1, restart TM1 services, add two new groups in Architect, go back to security mode 5, restart TM1 Services and then add additional new groups as normal.

Sol3: set GroupCreationLimit to a higher value in tm1s.cfg file.

Hope it may help you.

Cheers..
