Nevertheless, You can use the online version:MDX Studio doesn't use OLEDB for OLAP in order to connect to SSAS - it uses ADOMD.NET, and therefore it won't be able to connect to other servers which have OLEDB for OLAP providers.
Additionally, MDX Studio contains quite a lot of SSAS specific code, so even if the connection to other servers was possible - MDX Studio simply won't work against them. I don't have any plans in supporting MDX capable servers other than SSAS.
