I'm sure I'm missing something really obvious, but I've been banging my head against a wall and reading up and down manuals for a day to no avail.
How do I get Express data into Data Advisor? When I open Data Advisor and try to create a new Analysis Definition I only get the ODBC connections as my options. I don't see how to connect to the TM1 engine. I've scoured up and down the manuals and it keeps implying that you can only work with ODBC connections, not directly with TM1, but I'm sure that's not the case.
When I open IBM Cognos Connection I can see "Advisor Packages" as a folder, but there's nothing in there and I can't see how to create a connection to TM1.
What am I missing here?

Re: Data Advisor Package for Express
You have just been bitten by ICE - the IBM Confusion Engine.
_Data Advisor_ is IBM's attempt to provide a QlikView killer ie take external (relational) data and build TM1 cubes for analysis. It's really a wizard for TI. For some strange reason the output cubes and TIs are rebuilt each time it's used. I doubt that QlikTech are tossing and turning in their duvets worrying about the threat.
_Advisor_ is Executive Viewer. My guess is this is what you want.

Re: Data Advisor Package for Express
That explains a lot.
I think I have another problem where the normal package that connects to the TM1 server is not working. It looks like there should be a default Advisor Package. I could not understand why something so simple as wanting to connect to a TM1 server was not obvious, but that appears to be the reason.
I've managed to get around it by installing Reporter and creating a Package there instead. It seems Advisor can read off those packages too.
