Operation TM1

Hello experts.

How can we make copy a development environment TM1 has a production environment TM1 (cubes, views, TM1 workflows ..). Without losing the production data.

Iboglix provides no tools (at present). We supply to our clients some documentation explaining how to manage this properly. I don't think I've ever seen anything generally available to help with this.

Cubewise (see their commercial link here: http://forums.olapforums.com/viewtopic. ... =543#p3288) have some "Hot Promote" tools that help move new objects from one environment, but they don't move data.

I'm not sure how they go on updating existing objects such as dimensions or TI processes, I don't think that's possible, but you could ask them direct.

In general though, TM1 promotion is not a well managed procedure, and a lot of seat-of-your-pants stuff.
