TM1 Contributor Hierarchy

I'd like to ask is the hierarchy for Contributor base on the subset or the contents of the subset?

For example I have 1 application containing 1 subset that has 2 level the child & parent.

Then I have another application using the same dimension but now having 3 level, 6 children(5 contained in the first application) 2 Consolidation(1 for all the children and another for the hierarchy in the 1st application as well as the additional child.

Just need to clarify this cause I'm assuming its per subset and regardless of the content...but I'm having problems right now.

It recognizes the elements. Therefore two applications can use an approval hierarchy subset of the same dimension, as long as no element in the two subsets repeat.

So since I have same elements for both...I can just restrict the other element base on the groups rights for certain cube, right? If they don't have right in the cube, the cube view won't appear on contributor right? or will the tab appear they just won't be able to access the cube if they don't have right?
