What causes a log file to appear on the TM1 server, with a file type "LOG$" and no data??

My guess would be that it is a temporary file. I think I remember TM1 adding a $ to files when it has them open. Once it has finsihed with the log file it will change the name and release it. You may still have a $ file if your server crashed while it had the file open,
