TM1 9.4.1 Hesitancy Issues / Recalc Macro

Post by TJMurphy »

Hi, been trying to do some serious testing on 9.4 now as we're getting Office 2007 hoisted on us very, very soon! We've only just gotten a "proper" machine from our IT folks with Office 2007 and Vista* on it.

Two issues I've not seen mentioned here before, wondering if anyone else has them.

[Edited to remove issue #1 - problem occurred somewhere between the chair and the screen :D ]

2. Stops while scrolling around a worksheet when logged in.
If I'm connected to a server, then scroll around the worksheet the cursor just stops regularly for a split second and carries on. This occurs in 9.4.1 MR1 FP1 and FP2. On a completely blank sheet, it looks like it's every 10 cells. This only happens when connected to a server. There are no other models open, the model I'm scrolling around is completely blank. Is this unique to Vista / Office / 9.4?

Has any one got any ideas on any of the above?

Thanks
Tony

* Don't ask but new PCs will be getting Vista here soon too.

Just updating this to add that I'm seeing it on 9.5 running on Office 2007 / Windows XP as well. This time ran Processmonitor and found it was cycling around trying to open a file called "C" all the time. This is just two cycles, but it's doing it every time you move the cursor / click an item - so long as you're logged in to the server. I presume it's something gone wrong with the event handler code but as I've seen it on two machines (work and home) with basically nothing common in the configuration I'm a bit surprised no-one else has seen it as well.

(Yes that sequence number is the number of times this error has been happening in a session).

Yep, had the same problem - I think the version combo was 9.4 MR1 (no FP) and Excel 2007. It is interesting to see that you've narrowed it down to this 'C' file. If I were you I would raise an IBM ticket for that and see what you get back. Are you in a position to try FP3 or 9.5 to see the issue has been sorted in the meantime ?

Glad someone else had it! The update I posted was about it occurring in 9.5 but we'd had it in all 9.4 MR1 and some of it's many patches - can't recall which off hand. Both the original problem and it's re-occurrence on 9.5 have been raised with IBM (sorry, don't have ticket numbers as we work through our suppliers rather than direct). I'm now waiting on the newest patch for 9.5 that was supposed to have come out over the weekend to see if that helps at all.
