Automatic commit of data entry in TM1 Web sheets via PAW

Post by Steve Rowe »

Hi,
I've had a good old hunt around in the various cfgs and so forth but can't find an option for what I want to do.

So, is there a way of configuring TM1 web sheets access through PAW (from Pafe) so that cell values are committed to the DB on entry and the sheet refreshed, i.e. automatic calculation?

I though that I'd managed this before but I don't seem to be able to recreate.

Cheers,

Going for a wild swing here as I have not seen anything either but what comes to mind is the option to Commit immediately in the Manage Features on PAW. Possibly only for the cube viewer but cannot recall exactly.
Not in a position to get the exact name or test but HTH (or someone else can).

Thanks, I'm on prem (if that matters) and I don't see this (or any) option in the manage features space for the various releases I have available to me right now..

I don't use websheets much nowadays but in a previous build (before PAW even existed) I remember adding a cheat method on particular websheets.
If users were entering data to "Revenue" as a measure element I would add a consolidation called "Revenue_Input" that only contained "Revenue" as a child, the users then worked in "Revenue_Input" (without realising it) in the websheet and the default behaviour for entering data at a consolidation forced a recalc.

Not the prettiest solution when you know what is going on but the whole point of a websheet is that users have no idea what is going on and it got the job done.

I definitely expect there is a better way to achieve this but when all else fails...

Thanks Declan, interesting approach though not really practical in my situation, you'd think we could just flip a switch somewhere.....
