Security on Alternate Hierarchy?

Post by macsir »

I can see the alternate hierarchy is in }DimensionSecurity cube. I thought I can put some securities on them but apparently it doesn't work in PAW. Users with NONE access can still see and use the hierarchies normally. As long as the user has READ access on dimension, then he can use alternate hierarchy without any issue. I tested the case and seems to work in this way.
Is there a way to control security on alternate hierarchy?
In TM1,the answer is always yes though sometimes with a but....

A shot in the dark here, but have you tried applying security to the }Hierarchies_dimname dimension?

Thanks, yes, I have tried and TM1 actually created that security cube for me but still doesn't work. According to IBM's reply, it hasn't been implemented yet but on their roadmap.
