Element Security - Hide Element in Dimension in a specific Cube

Post by HighKeys »

Hello TM1 Heads,

i searching since a while a way to hide specific elements in a Dimension for just some specific cubes.

As an example:

We use different Cubes for Forecasting and History and merge them in a reporting cube for the total view.
In each cube we use the same "Version" Dimension but i dont need every element in every cube, is there a way to hide "history" in the forecasting cubes and versa vie?

I just found ways to hide the entire cube or element in the dimension in all cubes, but not for an element in a specific cube.

Thanks for your help!
Best Regards

This is what the }CellSecurity cubes are for. It can't "hide" the element like the }ElementSecurity setup does but it will return 0 for the version in the cubes where you have restricted it.

This is the option that would work best for the older interfaces.

If you are using the newer interfaces and actually want the element to not show up you can create alternative hierarchies for the dimension and just provide views to users that use the relevant alternative hierarchy for that cube.

If the idea is just to not show the element, versus taking away security for that version in the cube, then you can do this in the older interfaces by creating views for each cube with subsets in them that only show the versions you want.
