Need to link Excel Data to a Cognos 11.0.6 Report

Hi, I am new to Cognos Analytics 11.0.6 and there is a report that was created last year that contains a column where the data is not supplied by a Member. We found the Excel file where the numbers reside and am thinking that the person that created this used some kind of VLOOKUP or another way to get this data into Analytics to show in the report.

Does any one out there know how I can accomplish this?
