Re: Problem with setting alias

Hi, First, if you're updating attributes like this, why do you need the TM1 API? Could you try a Turbo Integrator process, which has all the attribute-updating functionality you've listed here? Second, if you've upgraded to a 9.5 version, is it possible your hardware specs and or network location ha...

Re: Running TI Processes from Command Line: TM1RunTI.exe

Looks interesting - should save me having to continue updating my version of a command-line TI EXE, which I'll officially retire once this is more widely available! FYI, I bet there's a good chance TM1RunTI will work with pre-9.5.1 versions, too, if needed. This is probably not officially supported,...

Re: TM1 8.x to 9.5.2

It's basically the difference between "officially supported" and "it works". There's some risk in running Excel 2010 and an earlier (than 9.5.2) release if you run into an issue specific to Excel 2010 because IBM will say it isn't "officially supported", even though as ...

Re: TM1 8.x to 9.5.2

Hi Jeremy: Excel 2010 can work just fine with earlier TM1 releases if you're concerned about 9.5.2's newness and would rather choose a supported TM1 release other than 9.5.2. Either way, make sure it isn't 64-bit Excel 2010 - that won't work with any TM1 Perspectives version at this time. This is a ...

Re: Running TI Processes from Command Line: TM1RunTI.exe

Hi: Hotfixes are supposed to be cumulative, so hotfix 2 should include the contents of hotfix 1. See here for more details on hotfixes, in general: http://www.tm1forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=3143 TM1RunTI.exe doesn't seem to have much documentation yet, but I'm sure it eventually will (hopeful...

Re: Can we Run TI Process/Chore from External Bat Files??

Sorry, but what's there to "teach"? If they're competent enough to run a SSIS package through SQL Server or BAT files or to "run some VBA Code" then presumably they can quickly learn how to use a web browser and right-click to execute a process! If you insist, you can search the ...

Re: Can we Run TI Process/Chore from External Bat Files??

Hi I want to run a TI process from Bat file. The person who runs this is HelpDesk guy so they cant get into TM1 to run it....so we want to create a bat/batch file so that he just runs it....... Appreciate your time.... When you say they can't get into TM1 to run it - why not? Can't you put this guy...

@Mike Cowie, I have copied TM1P8.LIC to C:\Windows and restarted Architect and now I can see everything that was missing. Thanks a lot, problem solved. I am just curious, why is this license file needed in C:\Windows directory? I just don't remember (and there is no info in my precisely written not...

Re: Architect not displaying all options from right menu (9.

Hi: Is it possible Architect is not seeing the Perspectives license file (TM1P8.LIC) anywhere and is loading as the TM1 Client version? You should be able to find TM1P8.LIC in the 32-bit's Bin folder (e.g., C:\Program Files (x86)\Cognos\TM1\Bin\) and, if you copy that to the Windows folder on this m...

Re: apostrophe problem in TM1

Hello: Try escaping the 1 single quote in the element name with 2 single quotes: ['Chiffre d''affaires (HT)']=['Quantité vendue']*['Prix unitaire']; This is TM1's escape sequence (2 single quotes together = 1 single quote in a name) so that you can refer to a single quote in the element name and avo...

Re: TM1 Subsets in Report Studio

It doesn't look like any of the 10.1 studios can yet see TM1-created Views and Subsets. You do have the option of TM1 Web and Executive Viewer portlets, though, which obviously do support your existing TM1 Views and Subsets. But, I realize that's not quite the same thing as being able to select an e...

Re: Internal Rules Using DB

I may be wrong but I seem to remember an Applix person telling me years ago that the DB() and [] syntax was treated the same by the compiler, once the syntax of the rule was verified. Made perfect sense to me. Makes sense to me, too, but I swear at one point (going back to at least 2000 or so) I ra...

Re: Internal Rules Using DB

This long-lost theory is news to me, as well. I even remember running into a situation with a customer (this is going back to version 7 of TM1) where we replaced DB() references with equivalent internal [] references (wherever possible) and saw a measurable improvement in performance. I've not teste...

Re: CAM authentication and Excel

Hi: Bit of a rushed response here, but hopefully it will help... I don't know of an undocumented CAM connection VBA function, unfortunately. There's no way to tell the TM1 Client to use a specific TM1 API session (or any other) handle. However, you can go in the other direction. From VBA you can get...

Yes - As noted above, there is a 32-bit and a 64-bit build included in the zip file, and the TM1 API functions used by this library should continue to work in newer versions of TM1.

When I was troubleshooting the issue, I right clicked on the new data cube and selected 'Create Cell Security Cube'. Re: Security for new data cube

I would second the suggestion to try logging in as this user from the Perspectives/Architect clients. Often we set up a test user in TM1 and put that user in groups we're trying to test, then login as that user and validate that the security looks as we'd expect with that combination of group member...
