Manny Perez

This is probably a bit late in the day, but one member brought to my attention the fact that some of the general membership may be unaware of this. The product that we still generally know as TM1, the core of Planning Analytics, was initially developed by Manny Perez for forecasting supply and deman...

An interesting point that I found when updating the "Current Version" thread. (PAW and Windows Server 2019)

As I've noted in that thread , PAW 74 was released this week. Finally it has support for Windows Server 2019. I do not currently have a 2019 platform but am slated to get one in the not too distant future. Given 2019's much improved support for containerisation, whether this change will improve the ...

Re: Commercial and Events sub-forum has gone walkabout?

It may be just me, but the Commercial and Events link on the main page doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Regards I think this was some slop-over from some things that Martin was doing on the site earlier this week. After the last software upgrade it was still possible to connect under HTTP rather ...

Re: What do IBM still have to do to replace Perspectives with PAW and PAX

In Architect we can see what chores are active (scheduled) or not. in PAW the icon is the same, regardless of that property. Not very useful. Or do I miss something ? 1 is on, 1 is off: This doesn't surprise me. Let's not forget that IBM screwed THAT in Perspectives in its own inimitable, cack-hand...

Re: What do IBM still have to do to replace Perspectives with PAW and PAX

Just heard a rumour IBM plan to deprecate/not support Perspectives in 2022 Q3. I think some knickers have become a little twisted here. Based on IBM's monthly AMAs, the current release stream (11++) will continue to support the old, functional API and the old, functional client tools (known and lov...

[By the way, the argument for SYNCHRONIZED does not have to be an actual object in the model. Here is my current list: With a couple of additions... Cubes No support for .xrus Dimensions No support for .xdis Don't nobody say "no-one uses those any more". Just. Don't. Granted I do most of my rule editing in Arc these days, but much as I love Arc to death there are NO solutions othe...

Re: Background processing / queue (Not chores)

I have set of challenges (Locking and number of parallel threads being executed) that I want to solve by moving processing of certain user driven TI's into a queue rather than being executed immediately. So essentially when the user clicks the button it would take the parameters and pass those deta...

Are you on an older version of the software? I was asking as I didn't think anybody still used Performance Modeler? Re: TM1 vs PowerBI

PowerBi cannot be ignored because it has the Microsoft 'goodwill' among finance people, and seems to be less of an issue with licencing costs. Though I am no expert on licencing, so happy to be corrected about this! Power BI is not necessarily cheap when you start getting a significant user base, b...

I've migrated the forum to a brand new virtual server to try to start with a clean slate.
