Re: Will new hierarchy on dimension affect the performance?
Is there a way of writing this in MDX? Sure, just use the recording feature of the subset editor and it will write the MDX for you. Basically you want to filter for the name of the parent element, do a drill down member on that, and then filter the result to only level 0. Then just save that subset...

Re: Not a legal OleAut date
You probably should just send your future questions directly to Mike. He and Richard Creeth (and maybe a few others?) are the people that created OLAPObjects so the're the folks that are going to know it inside out. It's a niche tool and I don't know that there are many people using it.

Re: Feed Data into multiple elements through TI
Yes am using }Groups Dimension in my Cube. So is that possible to load data to all Groups so that each person in each group can edit it... Regardless of whether or not this is a good idea you can certainly write the same data to each element in the }Groups cube as long as the }Groups dimension is p...

Re: Design question
There are a number of options and the answer lies in how do you want to be able to analyze data. 1) Put a Sector and Country attribute on the Customer dimension. This is not a very good option because you would only be able to filter subsets of customers off this and it wouldn't provide subtotals an...

Re: TM1Web Login Error
I don't know if this is an issue with TM1Web but in general I would never have a user and group with the same name. Create a group called Demo_g, make the user a member, and see if that works in Web.

Re: TM1 Performance Declined
How do you usually withdrawn rules and replace it with data? Because once the rules are turned off, I believe the data will be gone? The concept is simple although the execution of that might not be. It depends on how your rules are written. You will want to take a particular year or version, or wh...

Re: Without data migration and break back
I found another extremely tedious method of doing this by exporting the cube data to cma files and once the server folder has been copied from QA to Prod, use TI process to import the data into all cubes from the cma file that were previously created. This is no way an elegant method either. Like D...

You are correct. Picklists are not available in the current release of CX.standtrue wrote:I'm pretty sure the version of TM1 that ships with Cognos Express is 9.4 (9.4.1 FP 3 perhaps?). Picklists did not appear unti TM1 9.5.0.

Re: TM1 loading very slow.
I noticed something - the tm1sd.exe is holding up 19 GB of memory when the total is 21 GB. This is your key clue as to why the response is slow. You need to go back to your developer and have them do a re-analysis of your system to see whether or not using 19GB makes sense given your data. If that ...

Re: Data source for TI Process.
We want to use TI to pull in data from DB2. What would be a better source in terms of performance, 1. ODBC or 2. C10 Framework Package(this would probably use DB2 client)? Any other factors that would influence this choice besides performance? Thanks. if you go the ODBC route (which is the one I re...

Re: Dynamic slice is a classic slice
The Dynamic Slice functuionality slice doesn't exist in 9.5.1 as that has been replaced by Active Forms. I can't think of anything that you could do in Dynamic Slice that can't be done in Active Forms, plus Active Forms adds a whole lot more and better functiionality.

Re: FIFO Allocation
I was able to resolve this issue by using both RULEs and TI. Rules were used to calculate balances and the TI performs the FIFO allocation based on the Rule calculated balances thereby avoiding the circular reference issue. However, I was almost certain that this particular scenario could be done u...

Hello I am having many Excel structures which will be easier if there is any way to upload it as view in TM1 9.1 SP3 There is no built-in feature in TM1 to do anything like this. You have three options in TM1 for building cubes: 1) Use the Perspectives (or Architect) interface, 2) Use a TI process,...

Re: Mix of averages and sums as consolidations
Is there a way of achieving two ways of consolidating elements without having to write a rule for each combination that needs to be an average? Firstly, let's make it clear that requirement #1 is not a consolidation so it will have to be calculated via a rule. Requirement #2 IS a consolidation so n...

Your example doesn't appear to show where two boolean statements evaluate to TRUE for a single element. Have I missed something? I don't believe there is any such thing as an "AND" in MDX. It's not SQL with a WHERE clause but If you embed a FILTER statement inside another FILTER statement...

On a daily basis we upload figures from an ftp site into TM1. To achieve this, I login to the ftp site, download the relevant file into a location accessible by the TM1 server, and then run a process to pull the data from this file into TM1. Is it possible to create a process that can go directly t...
